(Today is the day before my birthday for clarification for the following story.)
Tonight, I went to community group while Hannah and Brooklyn (roomie and neighbor, respectively) stayed home to "do work". When I got back, I fiddled with the doorknob, decided to go to the bathroom while I was out, and then came back to the door again. Little did I know, Brooklyn and Hannah were hiding out in the room waiting for me to come back so they could surprise me. With all the lights off, I entered the room, ran in to a bunch of streamers, and then turned the lights on. My closet curtain/door was closed so I checked behind it, not even thinking to check behind Hannah's since hers is often closed. I was closing the door to the hallway, which had gotten stuck on some streamers, when Hannah and Brooklyn jumped out of her closet and scared the living daylights out of me. The girls had been crouched in the hot, small closet for the whole time I was in the bathroom, and had been in the room for almost an hour "practicing" how to surprise me. How cute and awesome are they?? They also got me cupcakes, balloons, put wrapping paper and streamers all over the room, and got little Princess Tiana (my favorite) stamps to top the cupcakes.
What troopers these girls are. They had intended to go to the specialty cupcake store to get real cupcakes, but of course today they had emergency plumbing problems and were closed. Then while they were in line at the store, fishing for their change, the man behind them heaved a huge *sigh* of frustration at their slowness. Then he tried to cover it up by saying he was "sick" and faked a cough. Nice going, buddy. These girls are just the most fantastic friends I could ever ask for!!
